In the blink of an eye, it is now 2024. Looking back at my 2023, it was truly a year full of changes and twists. When summarizing the year, it can be divided into three stages: the first half, July and August, and the second half.
The first half of the year, "Halfway through the journey, it fell apart"#
Since joining Zhuiguang Yunqi on December 1, 2021, I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey. On a macro level, we experienced multiple direction adjustments and changes in the race track. On a micro level, we analyzed various industry pain points and developed many requirements that were taken offline within two days of being launched. We were in a hurry, struggling in a clear confusion and unknown. Fortunately, at the end of 2022, we decided to focus on "enterprise going global and global employment", and compared to before, there was a slight improvement. I still remember in April or May, HR and CTO talked to us about changes in salary structure. Overall, it increased a bit compared to before, and the office was moved to a bigger space. However, the good times didn't last long. At the end of June, just when we were complacent and full of hope for the future, the CEO gathered everyone in a not-so-large meeting room to deliver the bad news that the company's funds were unable to sustain our efforts. Only the CEO and CTO spoke with regret and helplessness, while the rest of us remained silent, most of us listening and pondering with our heads down. On the last working day of June, we each signed the resignation agreement, and only a few people stayed behind to follow the company to new places.
July and August, "Chasing the wind, leaving no trace, the Kunlun Xuanpu whispers in the morning mist"#
July was a month without work, a month for me to take a break. I went hiking in Xishan National Forest Park with former colleagues, which was one of the few outings in recent years. At the same time, I finally had time to use the free medical examination card provided by the company. During this examination, Helicobacter pylori was detected, and I experienced a rectal examination for the first time, which is really hard to describe. The 14-day quadruple therapy had no effect in the first week, and the side effects of the medication gradually appeared in the second week. Although it was uncomfortable, I persisted. In September, I went for a carbon-13 test, and the values finally returned to normal.
August was also a month without work, a month for job hunting. This month was the worst time in the job market. I sent out countless resumes, but they all seemed to disappear into thin air. I tried to get referrals from friends I knew, and only managed to get a few sporadic interview opportunities. The first interview at Alibaba's Ali Mama was with a friend's sister, and I passed. The second interview was with the leader of my friend's sister, but I didn't make it. A former colleague asked for my resume and referred me to Gaode, but I received a rejection email on the same day. Later, my former leader referred me to ByteDance, but I failed the first interview. Then a classmate from my university club referred me to their company. I knew the interviewer for the first and second interviews, and the third interview was with their leader. During the interview, I found out that he was a classmate of my previous company's CTO in college, and we had worked together at Taobao. In the end, I failed the interview. Failing one interview after another seemed to plunge me into endless self-doubt. Am I really that incompetent? So I threw myself into the open-source community and started developing the pmb project. Pmb stands for Process Manager for Bun, which is a command-line tool for managing Bun processes, similar to pm2. The inspiration for this project came from the DGHire project of Global Employment, which used Bun + Hono to develop a server-side project for rendering static resource pages published on OSS or CDN. However, when deploying with Docker, it was not possible to use pm2 to start the service only in the Bun environment because pm2 depends on an API "cluster" that Bun does not intend to implement. It requires the installation of Node.js to start. This gave me the idea of developing a process management tool using Bun.
The second half of the year, "Don't listen to the sound of leaves rustling through the forest, why not sing and walk slowly"#
2023 can be considered the first year of the rise of AI and artificial intelligence, and every industry wants a share of this race. Powerful companies train their own large models, while others either imitate or borrow large models from big companies, or directly use existing large model APIs to develop peripheral ecosystems. Nowadays, AI is like the Hundred Schools of Thought, shining in their own unique ways, but overall, it is still in the relatively early stages. In early September, I embarked on another entrepreneurial journey, this time in the vertical field combining AI and human resources, hoping to break through. Becoming the head of frontend development is the biggest role change for me in this team, and perhaps it's the first time, so I'm still adjusting. It used to be that all I had to do was focus on coding, but now I have to attend various meetings and do some team building tasks. Maybe because it's the first time, I always struggle with task allocation and don't dare to let others take on tasks. I end up taking everything on myself, which exhausts me physically and mentally, and the other team members don't have the opportunity to grow. This year, I went to the hospital many times due to discomfort, and I went to three different hospitals. I experienced colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and magnetic resonance imaging for the first time. 2023 has passed, a year from unemployment to starting over, full of changes and twists, and the future is still uncertain. We can only keep moving forward. I hope that "looking back, it's always desolate, but going back, there is neither wind nor rain, nor sunshine".
Summary#

I really hope that next year, there will be someone to share them with.
This year, Messi transferred to Miami International, leading the team to win the Champions League.
This year, in the world of Genshin Impact, I met many people and spent time together during the seasons of Aurora, Reminiscence, Night Walk, Time, and Nesting.
This year, Xiaomi released the Surge OS, but my Redmi K60 Ultra still hasn't received the update, so I manually upgraded it.
This year, Xiaomi released the SU7 C-Class Coupe, a car that I can't afford.
This year, I climbed the Ghost Laughing Stone in Xishan and visited the Hundred Miles of Mountain and Water Gallery.
This year, I realized that I am becoming more and more unlike myself, like a walking corpse, breathing air numbly, without thoughts, occasionally filled with righteous indignation, but mostly in a state of decadence and inaction.
May 2024 bring good health and make me a thoughtful person.
